Nadia Refat is a highly experienced TESOL educator with a PhD in Applied Linguistics. She
has an extensive background in instructional design for TESOL students, creating engaging and
effective learning materials that cater to diverse student needs. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), she is fully qualified to teach at the higher education level in the UK
and is committed to maintaining high standards in teaching and student outcomes. With strong
digital literacy skills, she is proficient in conducting online classrooms, and utilizing modern technologies to enhance student engagement and learning experiences. Her research expertise includes
second language acquisition, technology-enhanced learning, language assessment, and
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). She is also highly skilled in both qualitative and
quantitative data analysis, with experience using tools such as NVivo, MAXQDA, and
SPSS, enabling her to contribute to innovative research and best practices in language education.
