Biography


Jasim has garnered diverse work and study experiences across three continents—Australia, Bangladesh, and the United Kingdom—encompassing both social and natural sciences, which contribute to his distinctive research portfolio. Over the past 15 years, he has effectively navigated the realms of academia and criminal justice administration, thereby cultivating a unique profile as a pracademic, integrating practical and academic insights. His expertise spans qualitative research methodologies, recently enhanced by the completion of his PhD in Criminology in 2024 at the School of Social Policy, University of Birmingham. Currently, Jasim serves as the Superintendent of Police within the Bangladesh Civil Service. Prior to this role, he amassed over four years of experience as a research scientist at the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR). Jasim began his professional journey as a lecturer in Physics following the completion of his first graduate degree in 2002. His academic credentials include an MSc in Physics (2002) and a Master in Police Science (2012) from the University of Rajshahi, as well as a Master of Criminology from the University of Melbourne (2016). Furthermore, he has contributed to scholarly discourse through articles published in esteemed journals, including Modern Physics Letters B and Current Applied Physics.
